Return of the off-road racing legend
Rebuilt for a new era!
On the highly competitive R/C buggy scene, Kyosho created an off-road masterpiece with the launch the 1/10 scale EP 2WD Ultima in 1986. Innovative design technology and a dominant 1-2-3 finish at the 1987 World Championships in the UK established the Ultima as the new benchmark in off-road performance. Following its success and in the pursuit of even more speed, the next generation Ultima Pro was released in 1988. Now, this legendary racer returns as the 21st model in the Kyosho Vintage Series, bringing the iconic Ultima Pro back to the track. While the original Ultima used a monocoque frame combining a U-shaped aluminum chassis with a resin upper deck, the Ultima Pro adopted a double-deck layout with a flat aluminum chassis and FRP upper deck. This provided an ideal balance of rigidity and controlled flex, while offering greater freedom for mounting the R/C electronics and battery. The re-release retains the proven Ultima Pro design while incorporating the longer front lower suspension arms and longer wheelbase from the later 1989 Ultima Pro for increased track width and stability. Front and rear oil shocks feature gold anodized shock bodies with dial-adjustable spring tension, while dedicated long shock towers provide increased suspension capability. Named for the Japanese word meaning “ultimate,” the Ultima Pro represents the pinnacle of the legendary Ultima series. Its return adds another iconic chapter to the proud history of the Kyosho Vintage Series.

●Decals recreate the color scheme of the original early-model package.
●6061 aluminum main chassis and FRP upper deck provide increased rigidity.
●Features dial-adjust oil shocks with a gold anodized finish, a signature feature of Kyosho's high-end buggies.
●Long-arm front and rear double-wishbone suspension delivers excellent surface tracing performance.
●Turnbuckle rods allow quick and precise camber and toe adjustment.
●2.2-inch wheels expand tire options.
●Full ball-bearing specification, including the servo saver.
●Assembly kit requires R/C electronics and power source.

Classic rear-wheel 2WD buggy layout with rear motor overhang. Features new aluminum main chassis, FRP upper deck and front/rear shock towers for this re-release.

Featuring a wide-type polycarbonate body with a completely refreshed look from the first-generation Ultima. Using the same mould as the original Ultima Pro, it faithfully recreates the style of the era.

Gold-anodized oil shocks replicate the original design, with dial-type spring tension adjustment replacing the original clamp system for easier and more precise setup. Fine Selection springs are included on front and rear.

Long FRP shock towers maximize shock travel while effectively absorbing impacts from the track surface for consistent damping performance.

Long front lower suspension arms, matched to the later 1989 Ultima Pro, deliver excellent road-holding performance. Rear lower arms allow toe adjustment by changing the bushings.

Turnbuckle tie rods allow quick and precise adjustment of toe and camber simply by rotating the rods, making setup changes fast and easy.

Battery can be mounted horizontally using a standard round straight type, or lengthwise. When mounted lengthwise, a low-profile steering servo with short front-to-rear length is required.

Ball differential with limited-slip action is included as standard, providing smooth cornering performance across a wide range of surfaces.

Steering servo mounting orientation is rotated 90 degrees from the original Ultima Pro, with a revised servo saver arm for a simpler layout and more linear steering response.
Universal swing shafts efficiently transfer motor power to the rear wheels and remain securely in place even under heavy impacts.
Larger 2.2-inch tires use medium compound at the front and soft compound at the rear for improved cornering stability control over rough surfaces. Newly designed eight-hole wheels match the original offset.
Polycarbonate rear wing on the original model has been replaced with a flexible, crash-resistant nylon version. Resin wing stays further improve durability in crashes.
